Unless you are living under a rock you know about Shaintar. It's a setting for Savage Worlds. Savage Worlds is a great game.
My buddy Sean Patrick Fannon has a really great kickstarter going for his Epic High Fantasy world of Shaintar. I have had the fortune of playing Shaintar while he was down here living in Jacksonville, FL and we played with the Obsidian Studios crowd. I actually met Sean at Wardogs game center in Jax here while he was looking at some Hero books I believe. We started talking and became comrades quickly thereafter. What amazed me about Sean is he had left his previous residence to come to Jax to work as the Director of a Game company - that did not yet exist. It was his job to make it exist. Yet he took on the challenge like a hero.
One of the things that sucks you in with Sean is that his love of the fantasy world he knows so well and his love of sharing the creative license with you as a player. I made up this warrior/adapt group of goblinesh called the Bloodsoothers. Now I am not sure if they went into his final book or not but for me the fun was creating something and having him put it into the world. He's like this with everyone!
Looking at the titles I have to smile because I've been part of this world from early (not the beginnig) but very early on when he was working for Jared at Obsidian Studios. I was actually part of the demo/con team called Team Obsidian. You can see a nod to my assistance and writing in the Fantasy Role Players Gaming Bible II and in Core and the eariler Wild Blades.
This post isn't about me though. It isn't even about Sean. It's about Shaintar. A world where you can jump in and actually make stuff happen. A world where you fight the bad guys and where altruism is given a voice. A world where good politicians actually exist and a world where evil is very very evil. A world of light and life versus dark and flame. A world created by Sean but modified by the imaginations and creativity of players in years and years of campaigns.
This game has history! Sean has ran Shaintar literally thousands of hours over at least half the states and the people just keep adding too it! Players and Sean keep adding more and more to the world but not in a mixing pot kind of way. Everything actually works!
Take "In Severances Service" as a kickstarter level for instance. I happen to have been part of the game where Ace who was playing a very talented leader character named Lord Severance, Chris and Tim Forrester, Kevin Ranson and several others played in that game and in the Freelands they were being overran by evil. Lord Severance and his band were some of the only that could stand against the darkness and win - and win they did! In another game, ran opposite biweekly on Saturdays I believe, I played Schulle-Kralle my goblinesh orc Bloodsoother who eventually became a Silver Unicorn and turned Druid. The liked of Jason Engle, Kat, Jared and several others played in that game along with Sean as the GM.
So, if you don't like Epic storytelling and do not desire to play a hero then stay away from this game. But if you want epicness on a scale not often seen and the opportunity to actually change a world's present and hopefully shape its future then look no further than Shaintar.
It's truly is that epic!
The second game was just the kids and myself. Madison played the Rebels defending their base, Bailey played the Rancor who showed up as the Empire and Rebels entered her woods and Faelan played the Empire. I learned that Faelan does not like to lose when he got Vader taken out even after he took out a force using Leia. The game was a great bunch of fun though and Madison did exceptionally well against her brother and later myself. Bailey enjoyed munching on stormtroopers with her Rancor. A good day of gaming and hanging out with the kiddos!

We had a good time playing the expanded Hoth battle today. Luke got taken out in his snowspeeder the third turn and then force chocked by Vader. Then, to add insult to injury, the ATAT deployed snowtroopers to finish him off. The rest of the battle was pretty one sided even with eleven snowspeeders the Empire ended with a decisive victory. Though the Bothans did manage to infiltrate the Empire and take out an ATAT and the Rebels killed four ATSTs, two tie interceptors and a Tie bomber.
I will need to tweak the vehicles and rules. We are going to play again at FLGS this up coming Saturday from noon tutill about three albiet with tweaked rules and less stuff.

The campaign will feature much planes and sphere hopping. It will involve a radiant dragon, dragon sorcerer king, vampire lord, illithid savant and the twisted ancient history of the neogi and drow.
Thanks to Issiah on OSG I think the main villain will be Mephistopheles. He rules only one layer of Hell but would love to kill Asmodeus and rule all nine.During one of the battles of the Blood War, one of his generals returned with a piece of the Eternity Puzzle. Mephistopheles, knowing what the artifact was, set himself to getting the rest of it in order to create his own Hell, rule how he wants and perhaps use as a place to get ready for a war against Asmodeus. In his attempts to take the puzzle, to not be noticed, he would use possessed mortals instead of devils.
Corelleon Laretheaon through spies in the ranks of the devil's armies also knows of the plans and is going to help the adventurers along as a beneficial aid sending different emissaries in various forms. Barkeeps, a frog, a sentient stalk of broccoli maybe to help the party when they need it most. Toward the end of the game he will have his radiant dragon friend try to make contact with the party as they encounter the legendary Spelljammer and a party of Neogi Slavers.
At the advice from Brian from OSG I will be using some adventures from Tales from the Outer Planes and Wildspace and I will also be using Castle Ravenloft, Cult of the Reptile Gods, Isle of Dread, The Dragon Sorcerer (cannon says no spelljammers cause its a closed sphere.. pfft cannon), and many other loved 1st and 2nd edition modules to end with an epic battle between Meph, the pcs and Corelleon themselves!
Done right this game should have humor (think Vagabond), High Challenging Adventure, Space Travel, Dungeon Crawling, Politics, Horror (Ravenloft), Danger (Darksun - Probably end up having to win their freedom as gladiators), Dragonriding (Dragonlance), Sinbad type (Al Qadim), and Planehopping.
Might even include dinosaurs as a cargo aboard a spelljammer which are bound for Chult.
Campaign Modules (In Order)
Tales from the Outer Planes - A Good Deed Well Rewarded, Castle at the End of Time, The Voyage of the Nerid, Wildspace, Ravenloft, scourge of the slavelords, my own darksun module featuring city by the silt sea and dragon kings, Isle of Dread, Genies Curse, Sword of Deceit, Tree of Life, Vault of the Drow, City of Spiders, Arcane Shadows, Against the Giants, Tomb of Horrors, Labyrith of Madness, Nightmare Keep and Earthshaker to final with the pre mentioned battle.
I love this game. It's fun to play as an Investigator and not have to run as a Keeper all the time. We will play Mansions of Madness eventually too. I've played it. It's a fun game. Not made by Richard (who signed my copies of Arkham and I did a co-game designer thing with at Gnomecon) but it's a great game! I really enjoy the mythos. I mean who wouldn't go crazy after seeing someone's face fall off their face or non-euclidean geometry?

Use the hatfields as a template minus the dog. give all bad to the bone, two riding all alone, all of them brothers in arms, one vp and one svp. all harleys which moves 15 inches per turn.
bad to the bone - You really are that bad. When using your bike to move you may attempt to move double by passing a medium do it check. if successful, move double then continue your action. failure indicates you dropped the bike. roll 1d6 versus bike hits. this can be used for stunts too at higher levels of do it checks and more damage as a result as determined by the gm.
riding all alone - if there are no brothers within 12" add +1 to your do it checks for bike stunts.
bro in arms - If two or more are at least three inches together and one take a wound the wound may be taken by the other driver as he swerves to protect his friend.
vp - any bro riding with vp gets a +2 on courage checks and moves 1 inch further including vp. vp has to have at least one bro within three inches to get the ability. vp may reroll two stunt check pet game.
svp - svp may reroll one stunt check per game.
